I've been playing with computers since 1997, and from 2000 a lot with images, graphics and photo. My main program now is Serif Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. PIRC is the forum where we learn and share.
I also use Paintshop Pro, including many filters. I also have other small programs to play with. Before Paintshop Pro, PSP for short, my main program for many years was PhotoImpact. Unfortunately Corel decided to stop it. That forced me to learn PSP. I took a workshop at Beginners Workshop in PSP. It's is very good place to start learning PSP and it's free. The mentors are very helpfull and they now PSP very well!
